For 10 years, local non-profit JAMinc has brought musical artists “deserving a wider audience” to Richmond concert halls and schools. Most of the performances have been within the intimate and acoustically pristine confines of In Your Ear Music and Recording in Shockoe Bottom, where they were carefully recorded on state-of-the-art multi-track equipment. Now many of those performances have gained a wider audience, as WCVE Public Radio aired 12 sessions of In Your Ear, an hour-long compilation of the best of JAMinc’s continuing monthly concert series. The show ran Saturday afternoons at 1pm from September through November.  We're hoping to air the programs again sometime in the spring of 2012, and produce 12 new programs for the fall season.

Host Tim Timberlake and In Your Ear studio president Carlos Chafin are producing the programs, which featuring three acts each week, reflecting the diversity and range of these special concerts. The eclectic selections cover many genres -- including bluegrass, jazz, blues, old time, Celtic, gospel and singer-songwriters of many styles. Artists range from superior local and regional talents, to premiere acts from all over the country.

In Your Ear offers a chance to discover new artists and appreciate the “in the moment” creativity, inspiration and soul of live music. Studio A is a “great room,” a haven for artists with intimate, friendly and informed audiences and peerless audio fidelity.

Production Funding of In Your Ear is made possible in part, byHohner, Inc., Wine Lovers, TKL/Cedar Creek instrument cases; Dr. David R. Beam and Associates and Digital Video Group.  Promotional support provided by the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities' Virginia Folklife Program.
