JAMinc is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation
formed by music lovers of various musical and professional backgrounds
aimed at bringing fine non-mainstream music to Richmond in both
pure entertainment and educational settings, and supporting talented
musicians of all ages in various ways.
What is JAMinc's Mission?
To open minds hearts and ears to music
deserving a wider audience through education, performance and
support.
What will JAMinc do?

JAMinc will bring concerts and workshops
to Richmond, trying when at all possible to have an educational
offering by any artist we bring or help bring to town.

JAMinc will facilitate and supplement music
education in Richmond through a roster of musicians who can
give a wide variety of presentations and workshops at schools
throughout Richmond.

JAMinc will support talented musicians of
all ages through a variety of forms of assistance, including
scholarships, awards, instrument upgrades, mentoring, recording,
and arrangement of performances.
Who does JAMinc work with?
JAMinc plans to work with other organizations
whose aims are aligned with ours, i.e. organizations with a focus
on education or music or both. JAMinc also plans to work with
the music promoters who strive to bring music to Richmond, with
some of the venues who are dedicated to bringing music to Richmond
audiences, and with musical artists directly.
What type of music is JAMinc focused on?
JAMinc will focus on the jazz, gospel,
folk, bluegrass, blues, Americana,
old-time, roots, and singer/songwriter genres.
Who is involved with JAMinc?
JAMinc is an all volunteer Board of Directors
supported by a network of volunteers.

Jim Bland - Founder
and owner of Plan 9 Music, an independent music retailer. Founder
of Planetary Records, a record label devoted to local and regional
talent. Tireless supporter of local and live music.

Daniel Clarke - Heralded
pianist and keyboard player, graduate of VCU's music program,
member of Neighborliness (winner of 2004 Kennedy Center Jazz
Ambassadors contest), Modern Groove Syndicate, Devil's Workshop,
and other ensembles.

Andy Garrigue - Business
owner with a passion for music, especially blues. Music critic
since 1991 (Style Weekly, etc.). Producer of "Blues Horizon",
a weekly blues show on WCVE-FM 1995-97. Harmonica player.

Bill McElroy - Owner
of Slipped Disc recording studio in Ashland. Grammy-nominated
producer and engineer who has worked with countless local and
regional artists, as well as national acts like the Seldom Scene.

Scott Street - Attorney
with Williams Mullen law firm, played banjo for seven years
with Hanover Better Boys bluegrass band.

Robbin Thompson - Nationally
recognized and awarded singer/songwriter/composer, co-founder
of In Your Ear Music and Recording, former Bruce Springsteen
bandmate, recording artist with 10 releases.

Wally Thulin - Founder
of Fieldcrest Music, a promoter of bluegrass, jazz and Americana
concerts. Also artist manager and record label owner (Courthouse
Records).

Tim Timberlake - Broadcast
producer, former morning air personality at WRVA. Frequent consultant,
stage manager and emcee of bluegrass and Americana events. Guitar
player.
