Page Wilson’s Reckless Abandon with Invited Guests

Wednesday, September 29, 6 to 9pm at Hardywood, Richmond.

Join us for a celebration of Page’s music as we re-create the Kitchen experience one more time.

Please join us the evening of September 29, 6 to 9 pm, in celebration of our friend Page Wilson’s Out O’ The Blue Radio Revue and his musical gift to our community. The surviving members of Reckless Abandon and some special guests will gather to share songs and stories as we wrap up the first season of the Page’s Kitchen radio documentary on VPM Music.

This will be JAMinc’s first concert with audience since early 2020, and to give us more space, we’ll be gathering at Hardywood’s Barrel Room in Scott’s Addition.  The address is 2410 Ownby Lane, Richmond 23220. The Hardywood cash bar will be open along with their pizza kitchen.  And we’ll be serving up complimentary Chickahominy Swamp gumbo thanks to Sam Miller’s, made up with the late Chef Sammy Graham’s legendary recipe.

T-shirts, posters and limited-edition art prints by artist Bill Nelson will be available for sale.

There are no actual tickets — your name will be on the door list. The music made on this night will be recorded for a future JAMinc/In Your Ear radio show on VPM so we’re hoping you and yours can be with us for what promises to be a memorable evening. Since we’re inviting the many folks who helped to make the Page’s Kitchen radio series possible, general admission sales will be limited to 50 people. Buy your tickets now, we’re expecting them to go fast!

We want this to be a safe experience for everyone. All guests will be asked to show proof of full Covid vaccinations or a recent negative test and wear masks until seated. We will strictly follow whatever guidance from the CDC and Virginia Department of Health exists at the time of the event.

We have Merch!

Our retail partner, Plan 9, now has a dedicated merch page. We’re offering themed merchandise including a limited edition, signed print by renowned artist Bill Nelson as well as a t-shirt and poster. All are reasonably priced and “must haves” for Page’s fans.

Proceeds will go to Page’s daughter, Virginia Blue, as a tangible part of her father’s legacy.

Buy a t-shirt now so you can be perfectly attired, just like Virginia Blue, for the show!
